- Irrtümlich wurde Hydaticus modestus Sharp, 1882 in der Roten Liste 1998 mit H. stagnalis und somit auch mit H. continentalis synonymisiert, H. modestus bezieht sich jedoch nach der gegenwärtigen Auffassung auf die Art H. aruspex Clark, 1864.
