- Der Baltische Goldsteinbeißer ist nur aus der mittleren Oder belegt, wo die Art zumindest bis zum massiven Fischsterben im August 2022 (Schulte et al. 2022) über eine kleine, offenbar stabile Population verfügte. Der Zustand der Population ist derzeit noch ungewiss. Die Verbreitung der Art war bis 2009 sehr unzureichend bekannt, konnte dann aber durch viele Befischungen ermittelt werden. Der geplante Oder-Ausbau (Wolter & Gessner 2020) stellt eine unmittelbare Bedrohung für die Art dar.
