- Erste Nachweise für Deutschland bei Kuhnt (2009) beschrieben, nur mikroskopisch durch die mit feinen Spiralleisten versehenen Capillitiumfäden von Didymium dubium zu unterscheiden. Makroskopisch auch mit Lepidoderma carestianum zu verwechseln. Eine noch unbeschriebene Sippe mit weniger dichten Spiralleisten wird vorläufig unter dem Epithet “pseudodecipiens” abgetrennt (Kuhnt 2009, Poulain et al. 2011).
