- Taxon aus der Peronospora trifoliorum-Gruppe; die von Klenke & Scholler (2015) hier eingeschlossenen Befälle an Trifolium badium, T. campestre, T. dubium und T. spadiceum sind nicht näher mit Peronospora trifolii-arvensis verwandt und werden als Peronospora trifolii-minoris Gäum. ausgegliedert (García-Blázquez et al. 2008).
