- Für die Erhaltung des Pilzes besteht vermutlich eine erhöhte Verantwortlichkeit aufgrund seiner spezifischen Bindung an Blechnum spicant. Für die Erhaltung dieses Farns besteht nach Metzing et al. (2018) eine Verantwortlichkeit Deutschlands in hohem Maße. Klärungsbedarf besteht u.a. bezüglich der genetischen Identität und möglichen Relevanz von Angaben aus Südafrika an zwei weiteren Wirtsarten (Berndt 2008).
