- Da Golovinomyces neosalviae von Scholler et al. (2016) nur auf verholzten, nicht einheimischen Salvia-Arten nachgewiesen wurde, wird die Art als Neomyzet eingeschätzt. Der von Klement (1964) publizierte Golovinomyces-Fund auf Salvia officinalis aus Großholzleute im Allgäu (vgl. auch Brandenburger & Hagedorn 2006) ist eine Fehlangabe von S. pratensis (vgl. http://pictures.snsb.info/BSMeryscoll/web/M-0014/M-0014106_20050920_181822.jpg, zuletzt aufgerufen am 20.12.2021) und gehört somit zu G. salviae.
