- Nach Jage et al. (2017) handelt es sich um eine mit P. lamii verwandte Sippe, die vermutlich an den in Deutschland als Stromtalpflanze auftretenden Wirt Leonurus marrubiastrum gebunden ist.

- Der Wirt befindet sich im Rückgang und ist gefährdet (RL-Kat. 3). Demnach muss auch für den wirtsspezifischen Falschen Mehltau ein Rückgang und eine Gefährdung angenommen werden.

- Die Sippe wurde 1979 erstmals registriert und vorher vermutlich nicht beachtet. Sie wird als indigen eingestuft.
