- Die Gruppe umfasst Peronospora salviae-officinalis und die von Hoffmeister et al. (2020) als eigenständige Art beschriebene Peronospora salviae-pratensis sowie weitere Befälle auf wild vorkommenden und kultivierten Salbei-Arten, die bisher nicht näher auf ihre Artzugehörigkeit untersucht wurden. Der früher gebräuchliche Name P. swinglei bezieht sich nach Choi et al. (2009) auf eine nordamerikanische Art, die anscheinend nur auf Salvia reflexa vorkommt und in Europa noch nicht nachgewiesen wurde.
