- Zentral- bis osteuropäisches Verbreitungsbild. Die Art fehlt in Skandinavien, England, der Iberischen und Apennin-Halbinsel, kommt aber südlich bis Griechenland und bis zum Kaukasus vor. In Deutschland nicht östlich der Elbe, fehlt im Norden und Osten, so in Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Brandenburg, sonst mittlerweile fast überall aktuell (außer Saarland) vorkommende reine Waldart der Mittelgebirge. Verbreitungsschwerpunkt ist Mitteleuropa (Rößner 2012).
