- Taxon aus der Entyloma microsporum-Gruppe; die Art wird enger gefasst als in Klenke & Scholler (2015); auf Ranunculus repens kommt mit Entyloma piepenbringiae eine zweite kryptische Art der Entyloma microsporum-Gruppe vor. Die Sippen lassen sich mikroskopisch nicht trennen, so dass eine sichere Artbestimmung auf diesem Wirt nur mit molekulargenetischen Methoden stattfinden kann.
