- Die Artumgrenzung folgt Constantinescu (1989), der mehrere eng gefasste Peronospora-Arten an den Wirtsgattungen Anthemis, Achillea, Dimorphotheca und Ursinia mit Peronospora leptosperma de Bary vereinigt und in die von ihm neu beschriebene Gattung Paraperonospora überführt hat. Nach phylogenetischen Untersuchungen von M. Thines (briefl. Mitt.) ist die Art in dieser Umgrenzung nicht einheitlich und beinhaltet mehrere Arten. Typuswirt von Paraperonospora leptosperma ist Matricaria perforata Mérat (= Tripleurospermum perforatum). (Abb.: siehe Publikation für Abbildungsnummer)
