- Die von Rieth (1980) als Vaucheria lii var. bipora bezeichnete Form wird hier als V. riethii Simons 1978 (s.u.) geführt.

- Die Art wird wegen ihrer geringen Größe leicht übersehen und bildet in der Regel erst in Rohkulturen, meist zwischen anderen Vaucheria-Arten Fruchtäste; daher gibt es in Deutschland kaum Fundortangeben außer vom Originalfundort.
