- Taxon aus der Ustilago striiformis-Gruppe; der bisher zu U. striiformis gerechnete Befall auf Holcus lanatus und H. mollis bildet nach Kruse et al. (2018) eine eigenständige Art. Holcus lanatus ist der Typuswirt von Ustilago striiformis (Westend.) Niessl, jedoch hat der Name U. salweyi nomenklatorische Priorität (vgl. Kommentar zu Ustilago striiformis-Gruppe).
