- Das Aggregat umfasst morphologisch schwer unterscheidbare Puccinia-Taxa mit Wirtswechsel von Centaurea zu Carex. Zur Abgrenzung zwischen P. arenariicola s.str. und P. caricis-montanae besteht besonderer Forschungsbedarf (vgl. Jage 2020).
