- Die bereits 1983 vorgenommene Überführung der Art in eine eigene Gattung als Frommeella tormentillae (Fuckel) Cummins & Y. Hirats. scheint sich molekular zu bestätigen (Yun et al. 2011). Bis zur Absicherung der Ergebnisse belassen wir die Art noch unter Phragmidium.
