- Bis in die 1950er Jahre wurde der Name Peronospora polygoni für alle Befälle an Polygonum-Arten inkl. Fallopia verwendet. Bei einer Angabe an Polygonum bistorta (= Bistorta officinalis) (Neger 1900) ist die Zuordnung zu Peronospora polygoni im heutigen Verständnis zweifelhaft.
