- Obwohl aufgrund ihres glatten Cortex gut kenntlich und relativ häufig vorkommend, wurde die Art erst 1995 beschrieben. Sie ist an weißfaulem Weichholz von Pappel oder Erle relativ häufig (vgl. Kummer 2003: 91-92). Funde an Fagus (Neubert et al. 1995: 212), aber öfter an weißfaulem Weichholz, u.a. von Pappel (vgl. Kummer 2003: 91-92).
