- Taxon aus der Golovinomyces cichoracearum-Gruppe; Braun & Cook (2012) differenzieren die var. moroczkovskii von der var. asterum (Schwein.) U. Braun anhand der basalen Krümmung der Fußzelle des Konidienträgers.
- Further comments
- Nach Braun & Cook (2012) ist der Ursprung der auf europäischen Symphyotrichum-Arten häufig auftretenden Varietät unklar. Sie diskutieren sowohl den möglichen Übergang des Pilzes von einer europäischen Galatella-Art auf in Europa eingebürgerte Symphyotrichum-Sippen als auch die mögliche Einführung des Pilzes mittels einer nordamerikanischen Symphyotrichum-Art, z.B. durch S. novi-belgii mit Golovinomyces asterum var. moroczkovskii-Befall. Da aus Deutschland keine Golovinomyces-Funde auf Galatella linosyris bekannt sind, ist der Pilz für das Gebiet als neomyzetisch einzuschätzen.
