- Die Art besteht aus mehreren Formen mit unterschiedlichem Wirtsartenspektrum und teils gegenläufiger Bestandsentwicklung. Die Sippe auf Kultur-Lein (Linum usitatissimum) ist seit den 1950er Jahren in Deutschland verschollen. Sie wurde aus ökonomischen Gründen bekämpft, u.a. durch Resistenzzüchtungen der Wirtspflanze.
