- Beschrieben aus den USA, der Name ist jedoch synonym zu Symphytocarpus confluens (Cooke & Ellis) Ing & Nann.-Bremek. Die bislang diesem Taxon zugeordneten Aufsammlungen gehören zu zwei neu beschriebenen Taxa, C. pseudoalpina und C. sinuatocolumellata (Moreno et al. 2004), die mittlerweile beide aus Deutschland nachgewiesen sind. Ältere Aufsammlungen sind daraufhin zu überprüfen.
