- Hauptsächlich atlantische Art mit enger Bindung an sehr luftfeuchte Habitate. Wenige Funde mit kleinen Kolonien an Sandsteinfelsen, Nationalpark Sächsische Schweiz (Schnittler et al. 2010). Im Plasmodienstadium durch orangegelbe Färbung sehr auffällig, dann jedoch mit der oft vergesellschafteten Lepidoderma tigrinum zu verwechseln.
