- Nach Choi et al. (2010) ist der Befall an Chenopodium quinoa morphologisch und genetisch nicht vom Befall an C. album zu unterscheiden und gehört zu Peronospora variabilis. Die Zuordnung des Befalls auf Chenopodium strictum zu P. variabilis ist provisorisch (Jage et al. 2017).
