- Russula galochroa ist schwierig zu bestimmen. Daher verwundert die doch recht hohe Anzahl von Funden. Vermutlich sind viele als R. galochroa fehlbestimmte blasse Formen anderer Arten darunter.

- R. galochroa kommt in der BRD nur bei Quercus-Arten auf Kalk vor.
