- Entyloma saccardianum hat Priorität gegenüber E. bavaricum Syd., da die Publikation, in der erstere Art beschrieben wird, zwar im gleichen Jahr (1924), aber dennoch zeitlich früher erschienen ist. Sydow (1924) glaubt, dass beide Arten nicht konspezifisch sind; molekulare Analysen fehlen dazu bisher.

- Beim einzigen Nachweis des Pilzes aus Deutschland handelt es sich um die Typusaufsammlung von E. bavaricum durch H. Sydow in Bayerisch Eisenstein (Sydow 1924). Die Art wird als indigen eingestuft.
