- Die Synonymie von Tortula acaulon var. mitriforme ergibt sich aus den verfügbaren Beschreibungen, sie ist an Originalmaterial abzusichern. Das Taxon ist durch eine mützenförmige Kalyptra, kleine und igelstachelige Sporen und stark papillöse Laminazellen gut charakterisiert. Bei Ros et al. (2013) wird var. mitriforme bei der Nominatsippe einbezogen, was wir nicht nachvollziehen können.
