- Die Gruppe entspricht dem früheren Entyloma microsporum (z.B. in Klenke & Scholler 2015). Nach Untersuchungen von Kruse et al. (2018) handelt es sich dabei um einen Artenkomplex, den sie stellenweise auflösen. Zur Gruppe gehören E. microsporum s.str. und E. piepenbringiae sowie Befälle an weiteren Wirten, deren engere Artzugehörigkeit bisher nicht untersucht wurde.
