- Das alte Vorkommen im Ebbegebirge ist durch Hesse (2009) bestätigt worden. Hier existiert derzeit ein recht umfangreicher Bestand, der auch im Baumschatten gut prosperiert (C. Schmidt). Eine weitere aktuelle Angabe von Frahm (2009b) im Grenzgebiet von NW und RP (Komper Heide) beruht dagegen ziemlich sicher auf einer Verwechslung mit Sphagnum compactum.
