- Von Kochman & Majewski (1970) und ihnen folgend Klenke & Scholler (2015) wird Peronospora muralis Gäum. als Synonym für dieses Taxon angegeben. Ob die Befälle an dem mit Chenopodium polyspermum nur entfernt verwandten C. murale tatsächlich zur selben Art gehören, sollte mit modernen Methoden überprüft werden.

- Vom in Deutschland stark gefährdeten (RL-Kat. 2) und selten gewordenen Chenopodium murale gibt es nur wenige alte Angaben von Peronospora chenopodii-polyspermi, zuletzt aus dem Jahr 1902 (Buhr 1956, als P. muralis).
