- Taxon aus dem Melampsora populnea agg.; seine Aecien gehören zum Caeoma laricis agg.; der Pilz ist durch seinen spezifischen Wirtswechsel gekennzeichnet. Angaben von mikroskopisch bestimmten Belegen wurden z.T. unzureichend von ähnlichen Arten unterschieden. Das Taxon ist bestimmungskritisch und Altdaten sind zu prüfen. Angaben auf Populus canadensis sind zweifelhaft und bleiben vorerst unberücksichtigt.
