- Die Sippe ist morphologisch von Erysiphe aquilegiae var. ranunculi verschieden, anhand der ITS-Sequenzen jedoch nicht unterscheidbar. Erysiphe aquilegiae ist wahrscheinlich ein Artenkomplex, der einer Multilocus-Untersuchung unterzogen werden sollte (vgl. Takamatsu et al. 2015, Shin et al. 2019, Schmidt & Braun 2020).
