- Lichtmikroskopisch lässt sich diese im Jahr 2004 als Diadesmis simplex E. Reichardt beschriebene Art nicht von Humidophila contenta (Grunow in Van Heurck) R.L. Lowe et al. unterscheiden und wird daher in der Bestimmungspraxis dieser auch heute noch häufig zugeordnet.
