- Der Pilz wird aus ökonomischen Gründen gezielt bekämpft, u.a. durch Beizung, Fungizideinsatz, Resistenzzüchtungen und systematische Saatgutkontrollen. Er ist sehr stark zurückgegangen. Aktuell gibt es wieder vereinzelte Nachweise auf biologisch bewirtschafteten Flächen.
