- Stabile Bestände der sehr seltenen Art Dytiscus lapponicus an einigen Lokalitäten z.B. in Schleswig-Holstein (Winkler et al. 2008) rechtfertigen eine Einstufung unterhalb von „Vom Aussterben bedroht“. Dennoch besteht ein Gefährdungsrisiko infolge einer zunehmenden Beeinträchtigung besiedelter Habitate (dystrophe Moorgewässer) durch Nährstoffeintrag und Entwässerung.
