- Die nicht mit modernen Methoden untersuchten Befälle auf Lactuca virosa und L. dregeana (Buhr 1956: Botanischer Garten Rostock) können nur der Bremia lactucae-Gruppe zugeordnet werden. Es gibt mindestens eine weitere Bremia-Art an Lactuca (Bremia elliptica Sawada an Lactuca indica in Südostasien, Choi et al. 2011).
