- Der Gründling ist eine der Arten, für die eine erhöhte nationale Verantwortlichkeit für die weltweite Erhaltung vorliegt. Er hat ein kleines Verbreitungsgebiet von Frankreich bis in die Ukraine. Deutschland liegt im Arealzentum der Art. Der Anteil der deutschen Populationen wird auf > 1/10 und ≤ 1/3 der Weltpopulation geschätzt.
