- C. stebbingi stammt ursprünglich aus dem östlichen Spanien und wurde weltweit in Gewächshäuser verschleppt (Schmalfuss 2003). Aus Deutschland sind Nachweise aus der ersten Hälfte des letzten Jahrhunderts aus einer Orchideenkultur bei Bonn, aus Berliner Gewächshäusern sowie der Orangerie Potsdam beschrieben (Gruner 1966).
