- Lithobius glacialis wurde erst 2008 erneut von dem in Mitteleuropa häufigen und verbreiteten L. mutabilis L. Koch, 1862 getrennt (Pilz et al. 2008). Daher ist das Gesamtverbreitungsgebiet neu zu definieren.

- L. glacialis tritt erst ab der subalpinen Stufe nahe bzw. oberhalb der Baumgrenze auf.
