- Die Kaukasische Zwerggrundel wurde 2019 sowohl im Niederrhein (Markgraf-Maué & Chrobock 2020, Borcherding et al. 2021) als auch in der Moselmündung (C. v. Landwüst, pers. Mitteilung) nachgewiesen. Borcherding et al. (2021) identifizierten die Art als Knipowitschia cf. caucasica und gaben zudem an, dass diese Grundel in den Niederlanden schon recht verbreitet sei. Die Autoren und Autorinnen der aktuellen Roten Liste gehen davon aus, dass sich diese anspruchslose Art gemäß der Etablierungkriterien von Ludwig et al. (2009) im deutschen Rhein etabliert hat.
