- Der hier unter Peronospora hiemalis geführte Befall auf Ranunculus sardous weicht phylogenetisch vom Befall an R. acris ab. Ploch et al. (2022) bezeichnen ihn als „Peronospora ranunculi-sardoi nom. prov.“, weil die vermutete Identität mit Peronospora ranunculi-sardoi Săvul. & Rayss in taxonomischer und nomenklatorischer Hinsicht nicht abschließend geklärt ist. Angaben auf anderen Ranunculus-Arten gehören nach Kochman & Majewski (1970) zu Peronospora ranunculi.
