- Microbotryum dianthorum enthält mehrere kryptische Sippen, die nur unzureichend über morphologische und molekulare Methoden oder Infektionsversuche zu trennen sind. Beispiele dafür sind M. carthusianorum Denchev, T. Giraud & M.E. Hood, M. shykoffianum T. Giraud, Denchev & M.E. Hood und M. superbum (Liro) Denchev, T. Giraud & M.E. Hood (vgl. Klenke & Scholler 2015). M. dianthorum wird hier als weit gefasste Art bewertet.
- Comment on threat
- Die einzelnen Sippen innerhalb des Microbotryum dianthorum-Komplexes sind zum Teil wesentlich stärker gefährdet als die weitgefasste Art in ihrer Gesamtheit. Dies ergibt sich u.a. durch spezifische Bindungen an bestandsgefährdete Wirtsarten.
