- In Braun & Cook (2012) wurden die Podosphaera clandestina-Befälle auf Prunus aus dem P. clandestina-Aggregat als P. prunicola herausgelöst. Foitzik (1996) sowie Klenke & Scholler (2015) ordnen die Podosphaera-Befälle auf Prunus serotina der Podosphaera tridactyla zu.
- Further comments
- Moparthi et al. (2019) listen neben nordamerikanischen Podosphaera prunicola-Funden auf Prunus virginiana und P. serotina auch einen Fund auf letzterem Wirt aus Deutschland auf (bisher einziger Nachweis für Europa). Der Beleg war im Herbarium GLM unter Podosphaera tridactyla abgelegt. Ob weitere Angaben zu P. tridactyla auf Prunus serotina aus Deutschland in Wirklichkeit zu P. prunicola gehören, müssen spätere Untersuchungen zeigen.
