- Die Zuordnungen der Befälle an Salvia farinacea und einer Salvia-Kultursippe zu dieser Art erfolgten durch Y.-J. Choi (Jage et al. 2017). Die Zugehörigkeit des Befalls an Salvia sclarea wurde von Hoffmeister et al. (2020) molekularbiologisch bestätigt. Die Art tritt meistens im Gewächshaus auf, ist jedoch auch im Freilandanbau nachgewiesen (Pflanzenschutzdienst Hessen, Jahresbericht 2016: auf „Salvia“, Kruse et al. 2019).
