- Cosmarium pygmaeum var. apertum wurde von Täuscher (2016) aus dem Elbegebiet (Sachsen-Anhalt) gemeldet. Die Dokumentation weicht erheblich von den Protologdaten ab, nach Kouwets (1998) sind keine Vorkommen außerhalb von Schweden und Frankreich bekannt.
