- Bradshaw et al. (2021) dokumentieren die ersten Nachweise einer Erysiphe-Sippe auf Astilbe anhand von zwei Aufsammlungen auf Astilbe x arendsii aus Deutschland. Den Autoren zufolge handelt es sich möglicherweise um eine Einführung des Pilzes aus Asien – obwohl auch von dort keine Erysiphe-Sippe auf Astilbe bekannt ist – oder aber um einen zufälligen Übersprung einer anderen Erysiphe-Sippe aus der genetischen Verwandtschaft von E. aquilegiae („E. aquilegiae clade“) auf Astilbe. Erst Multilocus-Untersuchungen können wohl Klarheit schaffen. Beide Erysiphe-Aufsammlungen auf Astilbe x arendsii clustern nach Bradshaw et al. (2021) an verschiedenen Stellen im Phylogramm der Erysiphe aquilegiae-Verwandtschaftsgruppe. Demnach kommen möglicherweise zwei verschiedene Erysiphe-Sippen auf dieser Wirtsart in Deutschland vor.
