- Die aus dem westlichen Europa bekannte Art wurde im Rahmen der laufenden Erhebungen erstmalig für Deutschland nachgewiesen, und zwar an mehreren Orten an der Nordseeküste. Von anderen Autoren wurde sie bislang nicht gefunden (Heering 1907, Krieg et al. 1988). Sie entwickelt sich in Mischproben mit anderen Vaucheria-Arten spät und wurde daher wahrscheinlich bisher nur übersehen. Möglicherweise ist die Art aber auch in Ausbreitung begriffen.
