- Die Seelaube ist eine der Arten, für deren weltweite Erhaltung eine erhöhte nationale Verantwortlichkeit vorliegt. Die Verantwortlichkeit ergibt sich durch den Anteil am Weltbestand (>1/10 und ≤1/3) und die Lage Deutschlands im Arealzentrum. Die Seelaube hat ein kleines Verbreitungsgebiet in Bayern und Österreich. Alle Bestände sind offenbar stabil und es sind keine Gefährdungen zu erkennen.
