- Obwohl erst in jüngster Zeit (Moreno 2003) beschrieben, ist dies nach Kuhnt (2009) die häufigste nivicole Art der Gattung im deutschen Alpenraum. Viele frühere Aufsammlungen sind wahrschienlich unter dem Namen D. niveum abgelegt. Diese Art unterscheidet sich durch stachelig (nicht warzig) ornamentierte Sporen, eine nicht irisierende, sondern mit Kalk bestäubte innere Peridie und ein steiferes, dunkleres Capillitium.
