- Bei den in Krammer & Lange-Bertalot (1986) unter Cymbella affinis Kütz. geführten Abbildungen handelt es sich sowohl um C. excisa Kütz. (Tafel 125, Fig. 5-7 und 15-17) als auch um die von Krammer (2002) neu beschriebene C. excisiformis (Tafel 125, Fig. 18-22). Ältere Nachweise von C. affinis Kütz. sensu Krammer & Lange-Bert. beziehen sich daher auf diese beiden Arten.
