- Comment on taxonomy
- Eine problematische Art (Abb. 3 g, h), für die in der Vergangenheit fälschlich Namen anderer Vaucheria-Arten verwendet wurden. Von Rabenhorst (1868) und in der Folge von Götz (1897) und Heering (1907) wurde sie als V. uncinata benannt, ein Name, der 1856 von Kützing für eine völlig andere Vaucheria-Art vergeben wurde. Auch der Name V. walzi (Rothert, 1896), 91 Jahre nach der Erstbeschreibung neu vergeben und von Rieth (1980) übernommen, kann nach der Prioritätsregel nicht gelten. Literaturangaben sind aus diesem Grunde kritisch zu prüfen.
