- Die Art galt bis 2006 als verschollen, seit 2007 existieren Nachweise in Bayern außerhalb des Alpenraumes. Die Alpenfledermaus ist also vermutlich in jüngster Zeit wieder nach Bayern zurückgekehrt (Rudolph & Boye 2017). Ein bereits 2017 nach Detektor-Aufnahmen vermutetes Vorkommen in Leipzig (Sachsen) konnte 2019 durch den Fang von vier trächtigen bzw. besäugten Weibchen bestätigt werden (Woiton et al. 2019). Auch aus Schleswig-Holstein liegen erste bioakustische und fotografische Nachweise der Art vor (Siemers et al. 2019).
